With the European Union surpassing the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to become China's largest trading partner in the first two months of the year, the China-EU trade demonstrates resilience and vitality, but it will take some more time to figure out if the EU can hold top place over the long term, said Gao Feng, a spokesman for China's Ministry of Commerce, in an online media briefing on Thursday.

商務(wù)部發(fā)言人高峰在3月17日的在線新聞發(fā)布會(huì)上表示，歐盟反超東盟，在今年前兩個(gè)月成為中國(guó)第一大貿(mào)易伙伴，這反映出中歐貿(mào)易較強(qiáng)的韌性和活力，不過(guò)這一情況是季節(jié)性的還是趨勢(shì)性的，還有待進(jìn)一步觀察。

"China is willing to join hands with the EU to proactively promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment, safeguard the stability and smooth operations of industrial and supply chains, and jointly elevate China-EU economic and trade cooperation to benefit enterprises and people of both sides," he said.

高峰稱：“中方愿同歐方一道，積極推動(dòng)貿(mào)易投資自由化便利化，維護(hù)產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈供應(yīng)鏈穩(wěn)定暢通，共同把中歐經(jīng)貿(mào)合作的蛋糕越做越大、越做越好，造福雙方企業(yè)和民眾。”

During the January-February period, bilateral trade between China and the EU surged 14.8 percent year-on-year to reach $137.16 billion, which was $570 million more than the ASEAN-China trade value. China and the EU also achieved a record $828.1 billion in bilateral goods trade last year, according to the MOC.

今年前兩月，中歐貿(mào)易同比增長(zhǎng)14.8%，達(dá)到1371.6億美元，比前兩月中國(guó)-東盟雙邊貿(mào)易額多5.7億美元。商務(wù)部指出，2021年中歐貨物貿(mào)易額達(dá)8281億美元，亦創(chuàng)歷史新高。

"China and the EU are mutually important trading partners, and have strong economic complementarity, wide cooperation space and great development potential," Gao said.

The spokesman also said the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement in Malaysia from Friday will further boost trade and investment cooperation between China and Malaysia, and benefit enterprises and consumers of both countries as the two countries deliver on their market openness commitments and apply RCEP rules in various areas. That will also enhance the optimization and deep integration of regional industrial and supply chains to make more contributions to regional economic growth, he said.

高峰表示，自3月18日起，區(qū)域全面經(jīng)濟(jì)伙伴關(guān)系協(xié)定（RCEP）將對(duì)馬來(lái)西亞正式生效。中馬之間相互履行RCEP市場(chǎng)開放承諾和各領(lǐng)域規(guī)則，將進(jìn)一步提升兩國(guó)貿(mào)易投資合作水平，為兩國(guó)企業(yè)和消費(fèi)者帶來(lái)更多紅利，也將有利于區(qū)域產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈供應(yīng)鏈優(yōu)勢(shì)互補(bǔ)、深度融合，為區(qū)域經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)作出新貢獻(xiàn)。

The trade treaty, signed in November 2020 by 15 Asia-Pacific economies, officially took effect on Jan 1 for 10 members, followed by South Korea on Feb 1.

2020年11月，15個(gè)亞太經(jīng)濟(jì)體正式簽署《區(qū)域全面經(jīng)濟(jì)伙伴關(guān)系協(xié)定》。該協(xié)定于2022年1月1日起對(duì)10個(gè)成員國(guó)生效，2022年2月1日起對(duì)韓國(guó)生效。

China and Malaysia have also been important trading partners for years. China is also the largest trading partner of Malaysia. Data from the Chinese side showed bilateral trade value was worth $176.8 billion in 2021, up 34.5 percent year-on-year.

多年來(lái)中國(guó)和馬來(lái)西亞一直互為重要經(jīng)貿(mào)伙伴。中國(guó)是馬來(lái)西亞第一大貿(mào)易伙伴。根據(jù)中方統(tǒng)計(jì)，2021年中馬雙邊貿(mào)易額達(dá)1768億美元，同比增長(zhǎng)34.5%。

Chinese exports to Malaysia grew about 40 percent to $78.74 billion while its imports from the latter surged about 30 percent to $98.06 billion.

其中，中國(guó)對(duì)馬來(lái)西亞出口787.4億美元，同比增長(zhǎng)39.9%；進(jìn)口980.6億美元，同比增長(zhǎng)30.4%。

Malaysia is also an important outbound direct investment destination for China.

在投資領(lǐng)域，馬來(lái)西亞是中國(guó)對(duì)外投資的重要國(guó)別。

Gao also said China will continuously expand high-level opening-up and always welcomes investors from any country to do business and expand presence in China. China will also continue to work hard to provide better services to investors from all over the world and create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment for them, he said.

高峰表示，中國(guó)將進(jìn)一步擴(kuò)大高水平對(duì)外開放，歡迎各國(guó)投資者來(lái)華投資興業(yè)。商務(wù)部也將繼續(xù)努力，為各國(guó)投資者提供更好的服務(wù)，打造市場(chǎng)化、法治化、國(guó)際化的營(yíng)商環(huán)境。

He also said China's impressive performance in attracting foreign direct investment during the first two months of the year is attributable to the bright long-term prospects of the nation's economic fundamentals that have boosted foreign investor confidence, the effectiveness of Chinese authorities' policy measures to stabilize FDI and the continuously improving business climate in China.

高峰認(rèn)為，前兩月吸收外資保持較高增速有三大原因，一是中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)長(zhǎng)期向好的基本面沒(méi)有改變，二是穩(wěn)外資政策效果持續(xù)顯現(xiàn)，三是我國(guó)營(yíng)商環(huán)境不斷優(yōu)化。

Data from the MOC showed China's actual use of foreign capital surged 37.9 percent year-on-year to hit 243.7 billion yuan ($38.39 billion) during the January-February period.

商務(wù)部近期公布數(shù)據(jù)顯示，今年1至2月，我國(guó)實(shí)際使用外資金額2437億元人民幣，同比增長(zhǎng)37.9%。

According to a recent survey report jointly released by the American Chamber of Commerce in China and PwC, around two-thirds of the surveyed US companies plan to increase their investment in China this year. Another report, released by the German Chamber of Commerce in China and KPMG, showed nearly 71 percent of German companies in China plan to invest more in the country.

Zhou Mi, a senior researcher at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, said China's undented attractiveness to foreign investors showed their long-term confidence in the Chinese economy and China's growing significance in their global market layout.
